New Year, New Opportunities

Hello Dear Friends,

Welcome to 2023. I am Kathy Watson Swift and I am the Director of women’s ministries across Western Europe in the Church of God. Thirteen countries and many beautiful, wonderful ladies of several different cultures and nationalities.

I want to share with you today a short scripture, John 4. Verses 8-9 and 10.

This is about the Samaritan woman. A woman of ill repute that went to a well at high noon when nobody else was there because she didn’t want to put up with all the talk that other women would speak.

It says, the disciples had gone into the town to get food. And she was surprised that a Jew would ask because the Jews despised the Samaritans.
So she said, “Why would you, a Jew, ask water from me , a Samaritan?
And Jesus said, “ If you only knew God’s gift and who it is that offers you water, you would have asked me for a drink and I would have given you living water. “

Do you think that that woman had any clue as to what was getting ready to happen? I think she is getting a reset. What do you think? She was getting a new start and the old would soon be gone.
How many of us need that reset. I do.
Every January seems to bring a lot of the thoughts of behind us and worries and concerns about what is ahead of us.
I think in this month as we pray and fast and find ourself before the lord, we too need to ask God for a reset.

You know Jesus, he promised that his followers would be blessed. He promised that we could have a reset. All we have to do is go to him. Now, many of us have followed the Lord for a long time but sometimes things get old or they become like a rut and we don’t need that in 2023!

There are many many blessings ahead, even with the world upside down So let’s make a commitment together that we will:
PRAY
SEEK GOD …….And when we find him, we will ask him, would you…..
GIVE ME A. RESET!
A Reset of your love.
A Reset of your peace.
A Reset of believing the impossible!
And Father, would you just pour out your blessings on me, A child of the living God!

Let’s pray:

Father, we just ask that right now you would bless everyone that is in the listening of my prayer. That you would help us individually and corporately to start again.
Forget those things that are behind we will press toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3: 13-14
We know Lord, if we ask you to be our friend, you will forgive us. You will bless us and we will have our name written down in the Lamb’s book of life, forever and ever.
Thank you Lord for helping us start 2023 with a reset like the Samaritan woman who drank of the water of living life and she became brand new.
Help us to become brand new once again.
In your name we ask it and for your glory. Amen.
