17 Feb Jesus, This loving Friend!

Let me introduce with these words from the Bible. 

John 15 :12-16 says « This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.  You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.  No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.  You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. »

Who else could be a better friend than Jesus. These verses sum up everything, Jesus is the best friend ever, he gave his life for us, he loved us so much than He accepted to die for us, to give us life.  

I heard about Jesus when I was 8 and at the church I learned very quickly that Jesus was my friend, it was even one of the first song I learned when I was a kid.  This song says that  if you want to have Jesus as friend you have to spend time with Him, to speak to him, to pray, to read the Bible and of course to love Him . It seems basic but it is true.  

Loving Jesus is a learning of every day, the more you seek Him, the more you find Him and the more you love Him, there has never be anyone on earth with such a goodness, with such a pure heart and a loving heart. Do you realize that He came on earth and He left his Throne to live here as a simple man ? He took all our sins and paid the price for us. If I tell you that it is just to remind you how great this friend could be for you if you accept to be his friend too. 

One particularity with Jesus is that things are simple, just like a friend, things are simple and easy with Jesus, if you have something, you can just come and tell Him things easily and clearly. If you need something, you just need to ask. In my life I speak with Jesus as I speak to a friend : « Jesus I need to park my car here, please provide me that place » « Holy Spirit, where did I put my keys ? » « Jesus did I forget something » … and you know what ? HE REPLIES ! He will guide me and show things a way that will often suprises me. Sometimes I even tell Him that he does funny things. 

What I love about Jesus also is that he is constant, He remains the same yesterday, today and forever. When my faith moves, when my faith fails, His love for me will not move, He will not change even if our circumstances change. He is the perfect example of love and the greatest demonstration of friendship. This God, this Man that saves me has accepted to be my friend, he accepted to be at the same level than me ! He is a friend that guide me on the way, that support me, that help me and more than that : He LOVES ME ! 

 If I can just encourage you on one thing is to consider Jesus not only as your savior, not only as your God but also as your friend, as a loving friend and you will live another relationship with Him !
