19 Nov I am created by God and He Loves me
A question I’ve had to repeatedly ask myself in my walk with God is what I am seeking and just as important asking myself where am I seeking for it. I have spent time with so many women who are commonly seeking love, happiness, peace, and purpose and these are itching questions I’ve had in life regarding direction and self-value and worth. The problem is our society tells us we can seek for these things we crave, and the things of the world can satisfy our desires. The issue is this lie sets us up for disappointment and failure because we are aimlessly seeking somewhere it is impossible to find but continue to attempt to quench our thirst for love and acceptance. We seek for our identity and purpose in hollow promises like the pages of a magazine, scrolling of a news feed, bottom of a bottle or arms of a bad relationship.
What if I told you that love, happiness, joy, peace, and your purpose can all come from one man and even better He seeks you just as much? The world tells us it is too good to be true, this kind of love and security cannot exist from one man and if it did then there is no way we could ever deserve it. God’s love is not something you have to worry about losing or earning because his love is neither performance based nor founded in who we are but rather in what He is, love. Your sense of completion and fulfilment is not found on people`s approve of you, it is available in Jesus. He does not just like you, he loves you and we no longer have to search for things in this world to fulfil us because He has already given them to us. As beautiful daughters created by our Father, our identity is found in the truth of God’s Word. The enemy uses our past experiences, current circumstances, and the words and opinions of others to make us believe that we are worthless and insignificant but in John 10:5 (NLT) it says “The voice of His truth is the only voice that matters, and the voice of a stranger we dare not follow.”
John 3:16 (ESV) – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
God loves you so much that he gave his only Son Jesus for you. He didn’t have to, you didn’t do anything to deserve it but God knew you were worth it!! He purposefully and wonderfully created you to be uniquely. You are not a mistake, you were worth the most precious thing that God had, his son. And trust me, he would do it all over again if he Had to! But the work of Jesus is complete, so you and me to rely that the work is done! We can rejoice in his truth about us!
Psalm 139: 13-15 (ESV) – “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[a] Wonderful are your works.”
Sometimes I personally struggle to fathom this kind of love, I’ve ran from God with my reasoning being God will love me and use when he likes me enough or I’ve done enough. This couldn’t be further from the truth because God was committed to loving you and sent his Son and knew you would be a sinner before you even knew Him! Isaiah 43:1-5 tells us that He has called us by name and we are his, and in verse 4 that we are precious in His eyes and honoured and He loves us!
Isaiah 43:1.4 (ESV) – 1 “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine 4. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honoured, and I love you.”
There is no truer saying than we are imperfect people loved by a perfect God. Only this kind of unconditional love and selflessness of Christ could give us our identity and fulfil our need for acceptance, love and security and he accepts us just how we are and loves us too much to leave us there. He wants the best for us and is our protector, God is stronger than depression, braver than loneliness and nothing will ever exhaust him.
Ephesians 1: 11-12 (The Message) “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.”
His love for us as His creation is continuously affirmed throughout the Bible, in Romans 8:39 it says nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God. There is a man who loves you despite your flaws and regardless of your mistakes. He hears our ugly thoughts and see’s our darkest times and when we are weak, doubtful and ready to turn our backs he stands with arms wide open. This man sees how imperfect we are but tells us his daughters that we are beautiful, we were worth His sacrifice, He will not turn His back on us and will love us eternally. All He asks for in return is our love, a desire out of reverence to serve, obey and trust in Him with confidence and if there is anyone who deserves it, it’s Christ our Lord and Saviour.
I encourage you to always remember that you are created by God and you are made in His image and he has a divine purpose and eternal love for you. Our identity is found in our Creator and we have been fearfully and wonderfully made in His Name. When we lose sight of this or the world tries to steal our joy we have to draw near to Him, seek his face and truly seek with a servant heart and surrender our insecurities, flaws and concerns at His feet and allow Him to restore our hearts and minds with his undying love and security. This journey called life is never smooth, never easy but walking in faith and God’s purpose brings an excitement and joy like no other and I am so excited as you continue this walk and allow God to work in and through you. When we know who we are in Christ, we can walk in confidence, secure in who we are as beautiful women and daughters of the King of Kings.
