God’s Love & Care

God’s Love & Care

God does not love as men love, he does not forget as men forget. The Bible says in Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; nor a son of man, that he should reverse his purpose. What he has said, will he not do? What he has spoken, will he not perform?” And what he has spoken is that he loves us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), that he will be with us always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).

It is not always easy to realize and accept this Love that God has for us because we reason through the flesh, comparing the Love and attention of God to that which others may or may not give us, but Men are changeable and their love with them.

I remember when I was little, in primary school, we were initially two friends who had found each other from the very beginning. Over the years we became a group of four, until one day, when I was coming back from lunch break, when everything was going well in the morning, I was told: “We don’t play with you anymore.”

In recent years I have realized that this has been one of the traumas that has unconsciously conditioned me in my way of thinking about love.

God’s love does not depend on others or on ourselves; his love is who he is, and he is Love. God never abandons us; he demonstrated his love to us once and for all by giving his only son.

I pray that we may have this assurance, “that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Be blessed!
