Amazing Love

Amazing Love

Here we are in February. It is the coldest month and therefore the Romans made it the shortest so that we don’t have to suffer the cold for too long. Maybe to cheer us up right in the middle of the month is Valentines Day, already the shops are selling heart shaped chocolates, cups with hearts on etc, all in red, why is red the color of love, apparently it signifies passion and emotion!

But this week I have seen the real meaning of love, God’s love. It is not the rubbish that we are fed from films, where marriages break-up and they just move on to another partner. Or where friendships fall apart with the most minor of disagreements. God’s example to us is a deep meaningful love within our marriage and with those people we worship with, live nearby or work with.

We have seen God’s boundless love this week in the way He has been taking care of Mary Carmen, one of our leader’s wife. God helped in her surgery as well as her care. He had everything worked out. The love in the way the Western Europe region rose to meet their needs was outstanding, both in prayer and the physical.

As her husband, Jaume said, ‘No doubt, God is great, and He has His way of glorifying H

imself and answering our prayers. Hallelujah!’

I also saw His love working out on our ladies WhatsApp group. A young lady wrote asking for prayer for healing for her wrist which has been inflamed for some time. She is supposed to let it rest. This is challenging in her work but now her husband has to go away for a week and she will be at home with her young child. Resting her wrist might be impossible.

Within five minutes my phone pinged! Different ones offered to pray for her wrist and to go to her house to help with housework.
Ping! Offers of food.
Ping! More offers of food
Ping! More offers of housework.
Within a short time the week was organised.

This is the love of God in action.

1 Corinthians 13:4.
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand it’s own way. It is not irritable and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance.”

v 13 Three things will last forever, faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is love.
