05 Feb Will You Build Your Faith
Read Luke 17:1-10
In many restaurants (at least, in the USA) you will find a salad bar and build your own salad or a buffet and build your own plate. We will even build our own pizza. Papa John’s actually has a pizza with everything on it called, “The Works”. There is nothing left out on that pizza but every single possible ingredient has been added.
But, how do you build your faith?
In Luke17:5, the apostles said unto the Lord, “Increase our faith.” They realized that they did not have everything they needed to live the way Christ was teaching. We must be committed to the process of building our faith because it does not happen overnight. However, when your faith is built up, you will be strengthened to overcome any obstacle that you will ever encounter.
A few direct scriptures that will help you to build this mighty powerhouse called faith are as follows:
1. You MUST read the Bible! Romans 10:17, So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
2. You MUST believe in the power of God and not man’s wisdom. 1 Corinthians 2:5, That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
3. You MUST draw yourself closer to the Lord in prayer intimately and in secret. Matthew 6:6, “But thou, when you pray, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which sees in secret shall reward thee openly.”
4. You MUST receive the Holy Spirit so that you may build your faith. Jude 1:20, But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
5. You MUST have faith in His Blood. Romans 3:25, Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; (It is not our righteousness because our righteousness is as filthy rags. It is not by works of righteousness that we are saved but by His mercy and grace.)
Your faith will be tried. Your faith in healing and the other gifts of the Spirit will be also tried. Your faith in every single way will be tried but you MUST remember, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:” 1 Peter 1:7.
There is an old saying, “Prayer is the key to Heaven but faith unlocks the Door!” SO NOW if you put Faith and Prayer together…All of Heaven will be opened unto you! Simply ask and receive, today, that your joy may be full.
The Lord has set before us everything that we need to be people of faith but it is up to us to take what He gives us and build our faith up.
