Difficult Moments
Hello, good morning, I am Mari Carmen from Spain, it is a pleasure to be with you to greet the dear sisters and friends and to be able to share together.
I would like to share from the perspective of my own experience a year and a half ago that I had to go through very difficult moments of illness and I am still under the controls and already gnostics of the doctors but trusting in the Lord.
I want to tell you at the beginning I was invaded by fear, a lot of uncertainty, although I was in the company of my husband and family, I was invaded by the fear of loneliness and a great uncertainty.
So I identify with the psalmist David in Psalm 27 because David also went through difficulties and asked himself questions that is why I identify with him. In verse 1 David asks himself two questions are two very important questions that I also asked myself and probably that you have also done them at some point in your life.
Look at what it was David asks in verse 1 of whom shall I fear and the second question of whom are you to fear me?
So David gives us the answer to these questions in the first answer: if God is my light and my salvation, who will I fear and if God is the strength of my life, what will I be afraid of?
David asked himself these questions and so did I! David said that even though the evildoers will gather against him, his enemies will still stumble and fall!
David adds that he was going to trust and that he was not going to fear! I think that if David asked himself those questions, it is that at some point in his life he felt the fear but that statement of David’s Faith were not empty words, but he found them in the intimacy of being with his God!
verse 4 David says one thing: I asked to be in the house of my God every day of my life! This is such a beautiful statement, a request to be hidden in the house of his lord.
and do you know why? In verse 5 David says: to contemplate his beauty and that God was going to keep him in the bad day because there he felt and was hidden and sheltered in the power and mercy of his master.
David could trust his Lord so if David asked himself those questions and he could answer them with that firmness declaring that God was his light and salvation and the strength of his life it is because he lived in intimacy with the Lord!
He did not ask for anything else just to be in the house of the Lord to contemplate his beauty to be close to him and to feel confident so that is where his declaration of faith came from, his strength and trust in the Lord.
Dear sister, I do not know the problems through which you may be experiencing fear disease problems in this pandemic, the fear of being contagious from losing your job is so many things….
If you wonder what am I afraid of and what am I going to be afraid of? Like David, you have the answer: God is your light and salvation and you will find this answer in the house and in the privacy of your Lord.
So if David said: one thing I have sued and will seek! I ask you:
what do you want to demand from the Lord today?
Meditate on this precious psalm!
Dear sister, we know that there are difficult times but the Lord gives us the answer!
If we go to Him, He tells us not to leave us or forsake us and David knew it very well!
